Theater of Thought is proud to present 2 talented artists, Leigh Hendrix & Rory Raven. As a creative production company, Theater of Thought is representing these 2 original pieces of work:
How To Be A Lesbian in 10 Days or Less, written and performed by Leigh Hendrix, is a
hilarious coming out story for queers and non-queers alike. Motivational
speaker and expert lesbian Butchy McDyke deftly guides her captive
audience in an exploration of self-discovery, first love, coming out,
lesbian sex, queer politics, and a really important Reba McEntire song,
as they learn to confidently shout, “I’m a big ‘ol dyke!” Leigh weaves a story that is one part instructional
seminar, one part personal story, and one part wacky performance art.
At turns funny and poignant, silly and earnest, How To Be A Lesbian in 10 Days or Less is the perfect guide to gay for budding lesbians, no matter their sexual orientation!
Brainstorming: An Act of Mentalism!created and performed by Rory Raven is an interactive stage mind-reading show that runs 45, 60
or 75 minutes. Minds are read, spoons are bent, volunteers test their
own "powers", and, if appropriate, the evening concludes with a
re-creation of the kind of manifestation you might have witnessed in a
séance chamber over a century ago! While the show is "TV clean", it is
more suitable for adults than for children...

"Site-Specific Theater?"
If
you are looking to "sit back and relax," our theater is not for you.
Theater of Thought entertains in a way that challenges the audience.
Site-specific theater immerses the audience in a full sensory
experience. Be a part of the production, and share your thoughts at our
post-show discussion.
"What are you talking about?"
For
example, our first site-specific production was TAPE by Stephen Belber.
This show is set in a hotel room, therefore, our audience members
checked in at the front desk of The Lighthouse Inn, where they were
sent to a room already alive with the story being told. Audience
members had the choice to sit in the room with the actors. The other
option played on one of the themes of the show, surveillance. Audience
members may also choose to view the show through the large pane windows
while seated in the interior courtyard and listening through the wire
tap playing through the speakers.
